Inside a big, homey cottage-style building, Fiddlers Three is one of those dining establishments you simply get attached to. Family owned and run in Shelbyville, a city in Indiana about 1/2 hour southeast of Indianapolis, Fiddlers is not just another Shelbyville restaurant. Fiddlers is home to a continuous succession of Shelbyville events, parties and gatherings of all kinds, from class reunions to wedding receptions to corporate meetings.
The part of Fiddlers Three that handles private gatherings is so important they gave it its own name: “Maxim Events by The Fiddlers Three.” The events venue can hold 340 guests, and Fiddlers’ special soundproofed “air walls” can be employed to create separate areas for different configurations. Maxim Events has a one-of-a-kind, illuminated dance floor to help your guests create unforgettable memories.

This charming, fairytale-type Shelbyville attraction brings fans from Franklin, Rushville, Indianapolis, Fairland, Greensburg and Beech Grove, to name a few. Even among the myriad Indianapolis restaurants, there is nothing quite like it.
The history of The Fiddlers Three is an interesting one. It took nearly five years just to plan and build the structure. More than 1,700 glass units went into the composition of the leaded glass in the doors and windows. Inside, the fancy woodwork and display cases were all installations made on the premises, as were the two enormous, Old-World fireplaces, connected by a forty-foot chimney.
At The Fiddlers Three, service and atmosphere are of utmost importance, but the food’s the thing. You can get anything from a sumptuous Chateaubriand for Two to Barbecued Ribs to Bacon-Wrapped Pork Filet or Fried Chicken and a baked potato. There’s a nice sandwich menu too, with tempting items such as the Open-Faced Wickersham (Black Angus Beef and Swiss on toast), the Open-Faced Chickersham (skinless breast of chicken with Swiss cheese on toast), or the Breaded Catfish Filet. Pasta items include Chicken Milanese and the house signature Gourmet Meatball Capellini.
On Sundays, this is a popular Shelbyville restaurant for an after-church buffet or simply enjoying your day off. You get four full entrees and your choice of a variety of side dishes, plus the fully-loaded salad bar and desserts for under $11, or under $6 for children. The special Sunday buffet at The Fiddlers Three is held in the Maxim event facility, just behind the restaurant.
